Terms of service

Draft. These terms must be reviewed by a consumer-law professional before the first paying customer.

Who you are contracting with

NORPOD AS, org.nr 916 724 047, Gaustadalléen 21, Oslo, Norway. Contact: post@vokter.art.

How the agreement is made

Ordering on this website is a request, not a purchase. Nothing is charged and nothing is agreed when you send it. We reply with an offer setting out what we recommend and what it costs. The agreement comes into being when you accept that offer, and the subscription begins on the day the hardware is delivered to you.

The subscription

Vokter is sold as a monthly subscription. The price includes the hardware, the connection, the app, the alerts, and replacement of any unit that fails in normal use. There is no separate purchase price for the hardware.

Prices

Vokter Home is €20 per month and includes three sensors and one hub. Additional sensors are €5 per month each and additional hubs €10 per month each. Vokter Roam is €15 per month per unit. Prices include VAT where it applies and exclude any duties charged on delivery outside the EEA.

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. If a price increase affects you during a minimum term, you may cancel with effect from the date it takes effect.

Minimum term

The subscription runs for a minimum term of twelve months from the day the hardware is delivered. After the minimum term the subscription continues monthly and can be cancelled with effect from the end of the current month.

The hardware stays ours

The sensors and hub remain the property of NORPOD AS for as long as the subscription lasts. When the subscription ends, the hardware is returned to us using the prepaid label we provide. Units that are not returned within 30 days may be invoiced at replacement cost.

Looking after the hardware

Normal wear is expected and costs you nothing — if a unit fails in ordinary use, we replace it. Hardware that is lost, or damaged beyond what ordinary use explains, may be invoiced at replacement cost. Coin cells are yours to replace; we'll send them if you ask.

Vokter Roam holds roughly a year on a charge and needs charging by you. We'll remind you well before it runs out, but a Roam that isn't charged doesn't report, and we can't alert you about a room we can't hear from.

What Vokter does and does not measure

Vokter measures temperature, relative humidity and movement, and sends alerts based on those measurements. It does not detect light, UV, air quality, water on the floor, smoke or fire. Vokter is a monitoring service, not a security system, an insurance product or a substitute for professional conservation advice.

What you need for it to work

Mains power for the hub, mobile network coverage at the address, and a smartphone to receive alerts. Coverage varies, and in thick-walled or below-ground rooms it can be poor. If we can't get a reliable signal at your address, you can cancel within the withdrawal period and we'll refund you in full.

Delivery

We deliver within the EEA. Hardware is normally dispatched within five working days of you accepting the offer. If delivery will take materially longer, we'll tell you before you accept.

Liability

We do our best to deliver alerts reliably, but delivery depends on power, connectivity and networks we do not control. Our liability is limited to the amounts you have paid for the service, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

Changes

We may change these terms with reasonable notice. If a change is to your disadvantage, you may cancel with effect from the date the change takes effect, including during the minimum term.

Law and disputes

Norwegian law applies. If something goes wrong, write to us first — post@vokter.art — and we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, you may bring the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), and consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under mandatory Norwegian consumer law.
